Still riding my bike to work...I MUST BE INSANE!
December 2, 2006

I can't believe I still ride my bike to work. I don't need to lose weight. The air stinks. The route is dangerous. Why do I do this? Why do I tolerate psychotic drivers, sickening exhaust, excessive noise, sunburns, and disappointing views to get to work? Why, why, WHY?!

I almost can't remember. Let me think... Ohhh yeah. I do it for environmental reasons. I want to minimize my fossil fuel consumption. I don't want to pollute the air. I want to set a good example for others. I am doing my part. Are you doing yours? Show that you care about beauty, clean air, sustainability. Let your city and county officals know that you want your community to be pedestrian and bicycle friendly. Let them know that you need more urban trails, wildlife corridors, and greenways.

Abandoned building waits to be sports gymnasium.

How come the city of Orange would rather take more open space and habitat next to Santiago Creek for a new gymnasium (left photo), then use this abandoned property next to Chapman and Yorba (right photo)?
