SATURDAY 4th Annual Tree Hugger's Ball - Watershed Walks - Explore a vast network of secret places which may or may not be preserved. Marvel at dense willow woodlands home to rare and threatened bird species. Traverse wide swaths of open space ideal for community parks and nature reserves. Walks are easy and occur once or twice a month. TBD. Watershed Wonderfest - A series of community gatherings designed to celebrate the watershed. Events feature local musical acts, "eco-friendly" food, and opportunities to visit special natural areas within the watershed. Once a month. TBD.
SUNDAY Santiago Park Nature Reserve Trail Walks - Observe the unique adaptations, vibrant beauty, and ancient wonder of Orange County's indigenous plants. Encounter a diversity of resident and migratory birds. Track exciting wildlife, such as reptiles and small mammals. Santiago Park Nature Reserve, Santa Ana. Every Sunday. 9AM-11AM. |
MONDAY Interpretive Bike Tour - Learn the fascinating natural and cultural history of the Santiago Creek Watershed while riding a bike from the Cambridge Street Bridge to the Santiago Park Nature Reserve in Santa Ana. Every Monday. 8:45AM - 9:45AM. Santa Ana Council Meetings - City Council meetings are open to the public and are held at 6:00 p.m. on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month or on the following Tuesday if Monday is a holiday. 714-647-6900 |
TUESDAY New Creek Park in East Orange, Planning Workshops - You are invited to a series of community workshops to help decide the future of 68 ACRES of open space along Santiago Creek in East Orange! Known as the Sully-Miller property, it is a major wildlife corridor and has the potential to become an incredible neighborhood nature park. With a creek full of frogs, trail opportunities, world-class birding, lots of tranquil space, and an undeveloped floodplain, this is a perfect opportunity to preserve a natural refuge for a crowded city. Workshop Schedule: The workshops will be held at the Ridgeline Country Club at 1051 N. Meads Avenue, Orange, CA 92869. Refreshments will be provided. Orange City Council Meetings - Council meetings are conducted the SECOND and FOURTH TUESDAY of each month at 4:30PM (unless otherwise noted). Dates are subject to change without notice.
